Sounds like a deal to me. I'd consider buying it and trying it out to learn few things then offing it if it doesn't work out.

i was thinking the same! if nothing else one should buy it and keep the dies and sell off the rest and make a profitThat's a great price! Looks like a Dillon 550??? The die sets alone are worth the $500. Interchangeable heads.......tumbler.....spare parts kit......someone needs to snatch this up!
You certainly could!.......maybe 2.sounds like you're tempting me into another bad decision!

I thought about picking it up to trade for a firearm
Looks dangerous. You might consider employeeing an RSO.Spent some time Sunday moving steel and spreading the gravel on the new training range on the farm.
30yd X 30yd in size, 3/8 gravel for the surface, and roughly 4-5 pallets of steel targets from the guys at ShootSteel.com should keep practice rolling
Celebrated the new range with a new match rifle built with all the best parts….then quietly walking it out of my office to take home.

Years ago, I had the same one. I just change the slide and competition barrel. I don’t remember where I got the parts.Well, the 1911 finally got here. It 's a 1943 Remington Rand that went thru a rebuild at Aniston in 1987. I will do FOIA request to see if I can learn anything interesting.
