That's why you got the new foam cannon isn't it??!!
 I never thought about that? Strip them all down and snow foam all the parts then rinse off. Might have to try this out if it ever cools off here and I can get out and shoot. ?

Don't know how good it would be on lead/copper fouling, but sure clean out the field dust and powder I think.

A shot of Ballistol first will take care of that.

I bought some 9mm and .22lr (all unfortunately on backorder). But it's a start. :)
Hopefully it goes through, if it does it'll be worth the wait. I backordered more 2.23 back in mid June and it's "supposed" to be in next week. I don't care of it gets pushed out farther but hoping they don't cancel the order which I've heard people say that's happened to them.

Because I just don't have enough to read through here, and because sometimes I like opening a "can of worms"....

I'm considering buying my wife a .22 AR-style rifle for Christmas. Or maybe building one. She loves to shoot, and this is something we like to do together when we can and when life isn't so upside-down for us.

I have ZERO experience in building a weapon, and am pretty sure I'd never be able to do it and surprise her at the same time, (certainly not by Christmas as I've waited so late to begin) so that's why I'm considering buying this first one and maybe learning to build something later on.

I very much covet the wisdom and insights you guys have to share regarding this. Thanks in advance!

Do you have a AR 15 now? If you do you could just buy a .22 conversion kit which is just a new BCG (bolt) and .22 mags. IIRC they're around $200.00 now. I'll check around but S&W has a good AR 15-22 but not sure of their availability right now. To bad this wasn't a year ago as I had 2 of them and sold 1 for $200.00.

I do not.
This would be my first venture into that platform...

So here's 2 different ones in stock. One with a scope and bi-pod and another with flip up irons. These were going for $300-$350 before so not a terrible markup and being in stock I would doubt they'll last to long.

Here's another for $400.00 + $15.00 Shipping

I bought a CMMG .22lr conversion kit for $180 a couple of months ago for the AR I was building. Just switch out the BCG and use the .22 mags. I just finished my very first AR build and I can tell you it is addicting. Already planning a couple of pistol builds.

There are alot of good sites out there. The problem is not the build of the AR itself.....it's the accessories that you add to them
