I noticed a metallic grinding noise only when driving forwards and it's intermittent when going straight, but happens constantly when turning right. Doesn't seem to be in time with the wheel rotating. Anybody had an issue with a rock stuck in between the rotor and dust shield or something rubbing?

Check your cv boots. Sounds like possibly a bad cv.

From what I can tell both boots are still in tact and the grease hasn't dumped out. Could be that the joint went bad though.

Hi Austin,

Check the dust plate behind the right front brake rotor, There might be a slight contact causing this problem, if not a bad CV. Did you lift your truck? Some have had the CV come apart and sometimes things do not go right on reassembly due to the snap ring getting into the CV.

Good Luck!

Had this happen to my Honda HRV. Wife went thru large puddle. 3 rocks got lodged between bottom of motor and frame. Going in reverse knocked one out. Had to pry out 2 others. Terrible noise. Initial guess was in brake system.

When I installed my leveling kit I bent the rotor dust cover to where it just barely touched the rotor. Only heard the noise when turning right. I simply bent it back out a little and the noise was gone.
