This video is a perfect example of fear-mongering at its finest. Several of the claims this lady makes are straight-up false. "This mandates equipment to listen to in-car noises and conversations" - no, the bill says nothing of the sort. It also never mentions "kill-switches to automatically turn off your car" as she claims.

For anyone who wants to read the actual bill, you can check it out here:
https://www.congress.gov/117/plaws/publ58/PLAW-117publ58.pdf (search for 24220 to find the specific subsection that deals with this).

One specific item of note: nowhere in this report did she mention all the provisions in the bill about how this can be kicked down the road for *more than 10 years* if manufacturers can make a case why it's too hard to do.

Lotta hot air and scary noises, but nothing really to see here, imho.
i read all of 24220. Yeah some of the claims made in that video are false. But if you think there is nothing to be concerned about here, you are out of your mind.

agreed. they will push the envelope an. how many times do we see groups going to court to stop overreach. They pass a vague non threatening law an then the unelected bureaucrats start making rules like banning gas stoves an furnaces. They get away with it because they never have to face the vote of the people. The elected individuals gladly delegate this so they can deny having a hand in it at election time. An example is the A tf passing rules banning some types of firearm accessories an owner groups going to court arguing they are making law an these changes must be voted on. I think a lot more rules should have to be voted on to get the elected officials on record.

Umm. they are banning the Bible, Tom Sawyer, To Kill a Mockingbird, and many other "inappropriate" books as well
Umm the Bible banning was overturned due to PO'ed parents. If you mean the one in Utah. They set up rubber stamp "review committees" and one complaint got the book taken out. The committee was revamped to avoid this in the future. The other books were from screeching because muh racism in California (not a real state). They were replaced with "Uncle Tom" and "To Bustacap Inna Snitch" to great applause.
