I bet he moved his OEM crash bars as far as he could to make those tires fit.
Depends on the offset of the wheels, some dudes slap on 285s with stock OEM rims because of how positive the offset is

Interesting, didn't think 285's would fit. I stuck with 265's and went up to 70's to save weight and 18mm offset. The 285's tend to weigh more, but also depends on how much height you want.

I have been on the Australian Facebook group for Ranger’s and few of my Aussie cousins have fitted 285/60 on stock 18’s with no mods.

I know some people freak out at removing the crash bars but FORD removes them on Raptor models an Sasquatch model Broncos. This makes me think they only help some in limited accidents, mostly off center collisions. If they were a major factor Ford could put something similar to the aftermarket ones on that give lots of clearance an just pass the cost on since those customers are paying a premium for those models/packages already.

I doubt ever removing them but I don't feel my daughter is at danger driving a sasquatch bronco around without them. Maybe the bigger beefier tires add some protection back that's taken away by removing them. It would be interesting to see a standard ranger with them an a raptor without them to see how much difference they make.

Same thought process as me, I know for the most part safety features are only beneficial, but so many cars recently don't even have them so I'm not too worried.
