Cracked me up, and yes Again! The truck is absolutely sluggish. Im planning on doing a roadtrip to the East coast within the next year so I'll most likely pickup some normal sized tires for that big MPG bump.
I have a 2.5 inch leveling kit and the wheels only rubbed at full lock in the inner fender fabric and had to trim an inch or two off of the plastic fender trim. Turned out amazing I love them way more than the KMC Rockstars I had originally. Ask any questions you got.
My HVAChas been horrible for the past few months and im finally finding time to fix it. i pulled a code up on a engine scan tool that mentioned "right side temperature damper motor mechanical failture" or something along those lines. Thankfully i dont have dual zone climate so it appears i may...
Just got finished installing rear Bilstein 4600s. Fun installation. Took a couple extra minutes because I realized the nuts sat in little metal pockets. Other than that and not a lot of room for full range of motion on the passenger side, the job went great (around 30ish minutes).
Haha I wouldn'tve gotten them if they were chrome or something flashy. I think the black has a nice silhouette
Haha they wanted to meet in front of a police station. They seemed like honest folk, their son got new set of rims for his suburban. Went from the wheels I got to some big ol chrome...
Ah they were too big to use my spare tire jack lol! I borrowed my neighbor's floor jack. Took a little while due to my lack of power tools, but tire iron did a good enough job.
Same thought process as me, I know for the most part safety features are only beneficial, but so many cars recently don't even have them so I'm not too worried.
All my research points to stock rims (I believe 55 offset or 30) with 285s does not require removal of crash bars. With 0 offset there was no other option, I couldn't get into my driveway without rubbing like crazy. I got the fronts off first but then I realized the rears were just as much of a...
I was following @Msfitoy 's walkthrough but when it came to moving the fender i had no luck with getting the bars out. Everything went back together neatly... except for some plasic push pin casualties but i made it work.
No play atall. :/ I did a tad bit of trimming on the thin metal behind the inner fender walls, it wasnt pretty on the first side, but on the second it turned out great. Even if there was play in the crash bars my wheels were getting stuck so bad i dont believe it wouldve helped much.
Lmao its all good most likely just a 2.5 level kit like the one i have on my truck. Great looking truck, if you have any questions most engine mods on these trucks can be seen in the engine bay so feel free to post more pics.
Glad to hear!
I think mine rubbed so bad was due to my offset. I believe it's around 0 so it stuck out into the crash bars quite a lot. I removed front and rear for now so I can drive around town without doing 3 point turns everywhere, but in a while I'll probably get some aftermarket bars for...
Took wayyy longer than i expected due to a lack of tools, and a few hiccups with my bumper(Around 4 hours for everything including some research and looking and borrowing some tools). Anyway I got my wheels on and removed the front crash bars. I can turn my wheel about 1.25 turns from flat...
