I was seriously looking into these at one point. Seems the light output is on the low side and they started messing up for a few different people not long after they were installed. Seems the touch sensors wouldn’t work for turning them all on or off. Had to do each individually. For what they’re asking for them I’m going a different way.

An older thread but it got my attention. I have this item and love it! Dealer sent Lariat to an outside shop to install the bed lighting, wheel well lighting and the dash cam setup, all from the Ford aftermarket catalog.

Dealer installed the tailgate damper, illuminated grille badge and Auto Stop Eliminator device.

Dealer attempted to install the FRPP tune but botched it. Ford Certified Speed Shop in nearby Monroe installed the tune for $85 plus lunch. Not glitch free this time either - we all learned something. Remember to update the firmware in the hand held device beforehand.

I paid yet another shop to install my LED illuminated tailgate badge, splash guards and locking lugs, Bilstein shocks-struts - my regular independent shop.

Wondering If I missed anything....

My touchlink bed lighting - two lamps on each side of the bed: (only shot I have)

So far so good for me. Light? These guys do a good job IMO. I do have to touch them repeatedly if not used in awhile. Otherwise, they work with every 'touch'. Love the 'cool' factor.:)

I also have these installed by dealer (who dented body on both sides installing). They have worked great for me for over a year and provide more than enough light. I am loading and unloading in the dark all hunting season and use them daily.

Not sure if you are interested in going the DIY route, but I installed what I consider to be absolutely fantastic lighting myself. Parts are super cheap, the whole process only takes an afternoon:

I just installed yesterday. It says 45 min, but took 4+ hours, all in all it was not bad. Lights up well. The hardest part for me was getting the rivet nuts in place as I have a rolling tonneau cover that block my use.
