Does anyone know if someone makes a lockable replacement compartment?

There is a safe you can put in the center console. Not sure how secure it would be (it is only plastic), but there is one out there. Unfortunately, I don't have a link to share - I've just seen references and pictures for it.

I always carried a bag of truck stuff behind the seat of my regular cab Ranger, the bag fits perfectly in the bin under the right rear passenger seat... flashlight, rope, first aid kit, etc. Much neater and out of sight.
I have a mag-light 3-C cell flashlight and my jumper battery under the rear driver side. A length of rope and my small bag of bungee cords/ratchet straps fits perfectly in the rear passenger side.

Not plastic, would be fairly difficult to get into, in my opinion
I meant the console was plastic - so it seems like it would be pretty easy to rip it out and take it somewhere to open it. But maybe it is bolted to the floor or something.

Just look at the YouTube videos on Console Vault.

There are install videos that show you what it's like.

I agree with most here. Not sure where you are to store stuff in pick up. Most storge in a car is the trunk and you give that up with truck unless you get a toolbox.
