Filled up the tank this morning then treated the truck to a car wash. After the second re-start the fuel gauge only goes to ~7/8 full. Took a ride to visit some friends about 80-miles away and topped off the tank thinking the pump must have shut off prematurely prior, still only goes to 7/8 full? Any idea's?

EDIT: Filled up after running it down to 1/2 and it fixed itself, all good now..Thanks for the suggestions

I don't believe any of the gauges are very accurate and treat them all as glorified Idiot Lights.

Yes I refilled. I'm just concerned that it happened after getting the truck washed. Usually I hand wash it myself but just came out of mountains from hunting and had a busy few days ahead.
I'm trying not to take it in for warranty because I don't have any faith in the issue being resolved and maybe made worse.

So the second fill up resulted in same reading...looks like you have a faulty sender...I seriously doubt washing would cause any effect...

It may be fine once it gets to half a tank and sloshes around a bit , not sure what the floats look like on those though ...
