What have you all done with your exhaust? I can't find a front pipe that has the flex pipe section that is not part of a more expensive full catback system and I know I probably won't. My issues with all this is I do not need the muffler and tailpipe mine is already 3" Borla ($799), so i really don't want to replace it since I'm already invested. I see a MBRP catback that has a good price but does not have the flex section at leaszt hard to tell from the images the reseller has. I would imagine the flex section is important to retain that flexibility in a 4X4 truck giving some play when running over rough terrain. Also, does anyone know the factory pipe diameter something tells me its 2 3/4" (2.75"), but I can't confirm that online and don't have calipers to check. I'm thinking perhaps the 2.75" is sufficient till I relace the complete catback system, anyone have thoughts? I just want to eliminate as much constriction on the turbo as possible. I have many add-ons, Ford Performance ECU mod, K&N airbox, CVF intercooler w/ piping, Turbosmart BOV and MSD ignition coils. I know i am over working the stock turbo into the stock exhaust with this extra power behind it. I have been bitting my nails over getting this mod done haha. Thanks for reading!

No flex on my mbrp system. No issues with 15k miles including off road and lots of miles on washboard/ dirt roads. Images of old and new system. This plus the open cone intake really helped let it breath. I can hear the turbo spool up and it hits hard all the way till redline. Before the truck felt like it was always not able to move the air fast enough. The intake was fine stock but the exhaust system really helped.

I'm a little dense here so not quite sure what piece our looking for. A "down pipe" (turbo to cat) or turbo to exhaust (no cat)?? You can buy the flexi piece and a downpipe welding up (w/wo cat) for not too much. I an fortunate to have a local muffler shop here in town that will fab that stuff up no problem.

Same here! I just rolled mine over 20 K miles with a MBRB 3" dual exhaust kit and have
had no problems. I put the exhaust on around 2200 miles. Love the sound.
Ohh and it gets a little louder with the downpipe!

I believe factory is 2.5". Are you looking to delete the cat or replace it with a high flow cat (or neither. lol)?

I have the same Injen intake and love it. I chose the Flowmaster 717909 FlowFX Cat-Back Exhaust System which came with the flex section. 3" is a bit larger than stock, so the expanding gass wiIl cool and slow, so I wrapped the whole thing stem to stern with fiberglass then painted it with hi temp brush on paint. I did a muffler delete as the wrap soaks up tons of sound and keeps my cab cooler in the summer.
