I've always liked the look of a bull bar on my trucks, I'm back in one after 17 years. I know a bull bar can interfere with some of the sensors. I recently installed the putco grill to protect the intercooler, there were no sensors in the trim piece I had to remove to install it so I think I'm good, are there sensors anywhere else in the front end, like for the collision warning? I have the red LED strip on top of the dash so I don't want to affect that.

I believe the collision warning (if equipped) is a camera in the rearview mirror stack, not a sensor out front. The sensors in the bumper are for parking only. The adaptive cruise (if equipped) is in the opening in the lower front bumper.

The Owner’s Manual is not specific, but this warning seems to indicate that the Pre-Collision system uses both the cameras and radar.

WARNING: The system may fail or operate with reduced function during cold and severe weather conditions. Snow, ice, rain, spray and fog can adversely affect the system. Keep the front camera and radar free of snow and ice. Failure to take care may result in the loss of control of your vehicle, serious personal injury or death.

From what I've found online and discussed with the techs at the dealer, the collision warning is based off the camera on the windshield alone. I have an 19 XLT 302a without the tech package, and the only radar functions on the front are my parking sensors. And thanks to Atlanta drivers I found out my AEB definitely works well.

I feel the manual should say "radar (if equipped) free of..." in that paragraph.

Below was taken from Ford's website about the CoPilot360 system:
The Pre-Collision Assist feature uses camera technology to detect a potential collision with a vehicle or pedestrian directly in front of yours during day or nighttime driving.* It can help reduce the severity of, and in some cases can eliminate, a frontal collision.10 If a potential collision is detected, an alert sound is emitted and a warning message displays in the message center. If your response is not sufficient, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you don’t take corrective action and a collision is imminent, brakes can apply automatically

If equipped, yes. If you don't have Adaptive Cruise Control then the only "sensor" used for the collision warning, automatic braking, and lane keep assist is the camera behind the rear view mirror. Since OP has an STX, I think it's safe to assume they don't have Adaptive Cruise Control.

The only other sensors that would be on the front bumper would be the front parking sensors, which would be 4 little ~1" diameter dots along the front. OP might not have those either.

Thanks all for the replies, looks like I'll be fine, i don't have ACC, and learned there's a front facing camera, appreciate the input!
