Forgive me for resurrecting my old thread but now 2 years later the chirping noise is back…and louder. The dealer came back and said it needs a new driveshaft. We’re waiting on the extended warranty people to approve it.
I had a ReadyLift 3” leveling kit put on the truck a month after I purchased it. Some of the forum threads I’m reading cause me some concern the replacement under the warranty won’t be approved.
My question is - Could installing the ReadyLift kit have contributed/caused this? I don’t do any off-roading, all street with driving a field very rarely. The truck is a 2019 with 53k on it.

With a lift, the driveshaft is turning at an increased angle, and can cause stress at the trunnions and cross(es), this can cause premature wear in some cases. Someone mentioned that they thought Dana"s quality has diminished, so maybe cheaper O-rings degrade faster, causing loss of lubricant.

A leveling kit doesn’t lift the rear. If anything it lowers it slightly due to more rearward weight transfer. The driveshaft angle would not be impacted in any noticeable way to cause issues.

The leveling kit also raised the rear 1”, so net effect is 2” overall.
Forgive my ignorance but does replacing the driveshaft normally include replacing the carrier bearing? The dealer mentioned only the driveshaft. I’ve noticed no problem with vibration, only the chirping noise.

It comes with the driveshaft.

Appreciate the confirmation everyone! I’ve never taken the extended warranty on any car I bought, but now I’m thinking it was a good idea on this one.
Phil is a retired Ford engineer, so he knows what he is talking about.
