Hey all, I recently purchased the Fox 2.5 DSC shocks and when I attempted to install them the black top plate was too large in diameter to fit into the upper shock mount pocket. The bolt spacing on the shock is also spread apart further than the stock shocks. I’ve compared part numbers from Fox’s website and the website I purchased them from, as well as the label on the box that the shocks came in and everything matches. Has anyone had this issue? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

I’m no expert, but this seems like it’s the wrong top hat.
Yeah, my thoughts too. But this is the second set I purchased. The first set was exactly the same. I returned them and purchased this net from a different website and the exact same shocks show up. I’m just confused.

Did you contact Fox directly with this question? A phone call could probably resolve this.
They got here by UPS around 6pm tonight. I think calling them is going to be the only to get it resolved. Just gotta wait til business hours. ?

I know that pain. Your cool new part comes in and your pumped to spend half the night putting it in..... Then all hell breaks loose and you cant.

Damn that sucks man. I know the feeling of wanting to get a new part in and it's either the wrong part or missing parts.

Probability is pretty high that they're the wrong part and mislabeled. Only way to resolve it is to call them and get it sorted out. Pretty sure these also have some numbers stamped on the shocks themselves. Compare that number with what is on the box to see if they match up. Still might be the right shock tube mut wrong mounts. Let us know how it works out for you. Bummer you had to get one out to find this out.

That is the same label that is on the box my 2.5's came in, but the top on those look different. Someone put the wrong part in the correct box?

That’s what I’m thinking happened. I called fox this morning and the CSR said that I was his third call this morning for the same problem. After I submitted pics to show the problem, he said he ship the correct top plate and I could install them. He also offered to exchange them, but that would involve weeks of waiting, I opted to do the work myself. Best of luck ?

The same thing happened to me too. Got my truck up pulled off my first strut and noticed that my top cap was completely different. So pissed, spent all this time to put everything back to how it was, sending them back and going with Kings. I had Kings on my 19 and was very happy, I wanted to try the Fox since now I have the Tremor and try something new....should have went Kings in the first place.
