I was looking around for a 2.5 setup and stumbled across a site where you can buy parts to rebuild the shocks and whatnot. What I'm wondering could I rebuild the Fox 2.0s and upgrade to 2.5s without buying a whole new suspension? I also live in San Diego so I coudl just go to their shop in El Cajon and have them do all of it with a tune, but I was just wondering if someone more versed in that realm knows if that's do-able

I am guessing there is not much in common between the two. From what I understand 2.0 and 2.5 are actually the inches of the shock body diameter.

These are two different shock body diameters. 2" vs 2.5". You can add a reservoir to a smooth body, but it's not really worth it.

Better to just sell your 2.0's and buy 2.5's. Just make sure you can find 2.5's in stock. PM me if your interested in a set. I can get them for you though my work.

What he said, two completely different shock size. The bodies increase the fluid capacity and typically run big shafts to handle the abuse. Even without a tune on the valve stack there is a noticeable different when going from a 2" to 2.5" shock. Add a "clicker" or adjuster to it and you have that more versatility.
