Where do I buy the adapter that I can plug into my laptop to access codes for removing start up chime, and various other items? First I'll say this: I have not purchased my 2019 Ranger yet, 7 months left on my leased Cherokee. I'm buying this time and it was between the Ranger fx4 or Tacoma OR. Because of this forum and test drives of both I have decided the Ranger is for me. The Tacoma forum is a little weird and not very helpful. So thank you for all the valuable input I've read. So if I ask a silly question it's because I'm new to this type of forum. I've got plenty of time to create my mod list and it seems to be growing every time I get on this forum lol! Thanks ~Tod

I hope you will enjoy your new Ranger. This forum is an excellent way to Road map what you might wish to add to your vehicle as well as some production start up issues that seem to be prevalent on the 2019. Lot of great people here to guide you.

There are a variety of adapters you can use - this is the one I purchased:

After you get that, you will need the FORScan software available here:

https://forscan.org/

There are tutorials on the FORScan site that will help you understand the steps. I'm a newbie at making the mods, but I've done several. As long as you are careful and follow the steps (and backup the original configurations, so you can easily restore it if you make a mistake), it is pretty fool proof.

Hope that helps get you started. You will LOVE your Ranger once you get it. It is the best vehicle I've ever owned.
