Ford Ranger EV Seemingly Confirmed As First Low Cost Vehicle

Having the extra weight makes it even easier to purchase as a company vehicle to write it off on taxes (vehicles weighing over 5,000lbs..which i believe the Ranger already fits this requirement…also my aunt purchased a tesla and was able to get a good portion of the expense on her return.)…
So honestly as a company fleet vehicle I think it would be a nice option, but ev ranger as a consumer vehicle (considering the folks who buy off road capable vehicles.) idk doesn’t seem like a good option (unless the distance of charge can be pushed beyond 500 miles and the off grid charging issue has a reasonable solution.)

It creeps up on later year models. 2024...4,203 to 5,325 lbs. So you were correct but only some trims. My 2020 FX2 Scab XLT would probably be on lowered end. Love my truck though it only has 18,870 miles w/10 yr 75000 mi. Ford Protect. I'm 66 and hoping it will be my last vehicle. I can't imagine what these trucks will cost by 2030. If I'm still driving and need a new vehicle, I may have to buy a gocart or Uber everywhere. I am definitely anti EV.

Oh that’s 500+ short on the heavier ones..so I did wrong there for sure.
Ev vehicles seem to be much heavier and if the 24’ already found more weight… well guess I’ll find out once they finally show up?

Honestly I'm more excited to see what the new PHEV Ranger is going to be like but I'm sure this too will be so high priced it wont make the switch worth it.
