New Ranger owner here in the SF Bay area. I ended up finding a nice dealer 3 states away that had no markup!

Anyway, Since purchasing - I've been interested in installing a bunch of the ford performance parts. Been lurking/searching here a while - and decided to ask some questions as I couldn't find good answers:
  • I noticed there were mentions of "Performance Packs" for the ranger - https://performanceparts.ford.com/vehicles/Ranger-packs . That link has pack part numbers and details - but they aren't orderable on the website like the individual parts. Are these only orderable at a dealer and not online? (specifically M-RANGER-FP1, M-RANGER-FP2, and M-RANGER-FP3)
  • Will most dealers install parts ordered from Ford Performance? A few parts require dealer installation to get extra warranty. I assume I just need to go ask service centers if they will do it - but was curious what to expect.

All of the parts can be ordered separately. You can also find most of the parts at various retailers that aren't dealership. If you want to buy the actual full performance packs you would probably have to go through a dealership
The only parts that would require dealership installation though for warranty would be the Ford performance tuner.

This. Only the tune requires a dealer or ASE/ Red Seal tech to install.

Which is dumb as hell , but whatever.

Yeah, but it is nice to be able to have a tune and not instantly void your warranty
I meant that a technician has to install the tune. It's a standard handle held tuner, the same consumer grade hardware and process of other aftermarket brands. Its not like it takes special dealer only tools.

But it's worth the price you pay for the warranty.

As a follow up, these are orderable at a dealer. I had the Morgan hill ford store dealer order and install - they did a great job.

Here's the stuff included in the M-RANGER-FP2 that I ordered/had installed - for reference.
