I think the intensification of remote work ability due to Covid has helped keep it alive. That's the reason my wife and I are finally able to do it. We've wanted to do it for awhile, but our work fields never really allowed for that ability, and since we wanted to still work while roaming to fund our lifestyle it was a priority for us.
You're right about that Matt. When we were on our month long trip back in June we met several who were doing this. Granted a lot of them were in travel trailers for the larger more comfortable space but they said working remotely now gave them the chance to travel while still working. Some like my girlfriend have Flex time so as long as they get their work done they're not stuck at the computer for set hours. I think this is great and while some might abuse the free time I'd bet many companies get more from their workers and they're less stressed.
