Yes I was ASSuming this but why would Ford design it this way if not for the intension of removing them to add larger tires? ?‍♂
Funny, my first ASSumption was that the base frame fit several different vehicles and they bolted the extension piece based on the vehicle being ASSembled at the time...but that's just me :crazy:

Funny, my first ASSumption was that the base frame fit several different vehicles and they bolted the extension piece based on the vehicle being ASSembled at the time...but that's just me :crazy:
I'm ASSuming the Bronco frame is exclusive to the Bronco but similar to the Ranger platform where they ASSemble them at MAP. ?

Like I said previously:
  • the design may be driven due to manufacturing / assembly line requirements....
  • or be designed with the strong piece (the intrusion bar receiver if you will) welded to the frame and the weaker member (actual removable intrusion bar) bolted in so it bends where they want it to during a crash.
