So I've had some down time since I got a lot of the work done on the ranger with the parts that have came in. I've been looking for a aftermarket rear diff for my 4x2 and didn't really think I needed one, but more like wanted one. So I went with the ARB rear locker. It still hasn't shipped yet and I won't be putting this on myself. I'll provide some updates as things move along.
Any updates on your ARB build, im going down the same path, and have the 589Fab mount on order, winch in hand and flirting with the ARB locker, did you get yours installed ?

Yes, it has been installed and my best advice to you is make sure to go to a ARB certified dealer. I made a mistake in not doing that. I'll PM you with the detail of it.

Love your build thread! I also have the base XL. Was wondering how the ride has been with the level kit?
It is along smoother in my opinion and i love how it sits now, it all around feels like a better ride.

So after a lot of waiting, the ARB rear locker has been installed and I'm 300 miles shy of it being broken in, once that happens, we will go test it out!

The compressor is set up in the jack area. It had a hole in the side of the frame that factory lines had already been ran in. So it made it super simple to run the lines to the battery and the diff.

So, I've been looking through some of the off-road post and see that some other owners are looking for differential options for their 2WD. The process was hard to understand at first with what right parts were needed, so here is the invoice from the shop I had it done at. It has all parts in detail. Enjoy and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I'm usually very quick to respond.

Also, you'll see a "0" in the differential space for quantity. There is a good story behind that to show that you're getting a great part and great customer service.

So I've been looking for some ideas for bed storage for my recovery gear and small items and I thought I'd try something different.

I was able to get ahold of some ammo cans and drilled three heavy duty magnets into the bottom of them. This will allow me to take them out and put them in the bed quickly if need be.

I'm not sure how they'll hold up when on trails and everything is bouncy around and what not, but we will see this weekend how that goes.

So I was able to figure out out to make a video and post it to Youtube showing the ranger with the ARB locker at work. It's only about 45 second and isn't very well edited. I'll get better at that piece as I make more videos.

Enjoy!

rule #1 with making videos. NO PORTRAIT MODE! My eyes are side by side, not stacked on top of each other.

So I had to put something over my locker switches because my phone doesn't always stay in the mount I put on the dash and I don't want it to fall and somehow hit both the compressor and locker switch when going too fast.

So here is what I came up with. I bought a couple of corner brackets and used a hex bolt and washer to fasten them together and then used some double sided gorilla tape to hold it in place.

I'll trim back the tape a bit and eventually spray paint it black, but this is how it will be for now.

As you can see the pace of doing stuff to the ranger has slowed way down....I have a little project for the weekend. I'm going to plasti-dip the wheels black. I think it will add a little more of an aggressive look.

I have some more modifications coming next spring (have to let the bank build back up and I'll be away until that time). I'm looking to upgrade the suspension, tuner, and maybe some skid plates. Not sure on which ones to go with yet, but I have lots of time to do research.
