New to the truck scene. My dad has a 2009 ranger with 227k on it and it has seen a lot less trips to the mechanic than my old car and mom's SUV combined.

Figured I couldn't go wrong with a newer version either. Since they did bring them back after 2011. Love the truck, drives like a dream.

Year: 2023
Miles: 14700km
Package: Tremor

Nice to have a forum like this, already been super useful too.

You're gonna love it. Not your pocket book though when you start putting your touch on it. Look at ours. Welcome to the club.

Haha for sure, been looking at various things and it'll be a bit before I do anything to it.
It's just as important to know what NOT to spend your hard earned cash on. Watching from the sidelines for a bit is a smart play, and has personally saved me a good bit of money in deciding what is needed and what is not.
Like the damper, for instance. I've no use for it at all, but there are many here who have it, and for good reasons (safety of release around small children, ease of getting out of the bed from inside the bed, etc.).
Good luck!

For sure, I'm new to all this so I'm just looking around right now and observing/learning before I get anything.

What do you recommend for mice problems? I was thinking about one of those sonic ones that run on batteries.
I use a variety of peppermint, cinnamon, and capsicum oils in my engine bay. I also blow it out, especially under the engine cover and open the hood on sunny days.

Seems to work. I had someone chew rhrough my battery tender cables last year but nothing since then.

I'll be doing the hardware cloth solution, mentioned above, for the cabin air filter and the rear vents behind the rear seats.

Welcome to the forum!

BTW, my sig below links the stuff I've added to Soupie. =)

I have seen some guys here use a sent oil spray, I can tell you the sonic things dont work at all, in the winter up here they come in so I got two of them to put in the kitchen.... I watched one on my counter at 2am not only walk right by it, but stopped and looked right at it, I almost blew snot I laughed so hard, this year I am thinking about trying Glue traps? and like for the spray and give everything a good soaking inside and out, they really made a mess of the wiring in my last truck :(

This is similar to what I use and I add more concentrated cinnamon oil and it sure makes the truck smell nice for a few days. LOL, I even put some balsam satchels in the cab soaked in this and it can be really intense - like driving a tube of toothpaste around.
