This is scrubbing with just a Magic Eraser.

This is after with 303 Protectant. The lighting makes it look less dark than it is. The big question is, how long will this last? These were replaced under warranty 18 months after purchase with the supposed "new and improved" trim pieces.

The next project is the black vinyl appliqué on the B pillar. Has anyone figured out a way to get the splotchiness out of these yet? I do not want to remove them. I prefer the black trim look over the paint for this area.

Is the sun in SoCal the culprit?

I hope you find a solution for that B pillar. I guess you could pull the vinyl and rewrap it as a last resort.

I get the same discoloring on the driver's side because it gets sun in the carport. I treat them monthly with Mothers protectant and it lasts for weeks.

Mine did the same thing. I’m still under warranty and it didn’t occur to me to get it replaced. Regardless, I took a propane torch and turned the flame all the way down and ran it down the length of the trim and it looks brand new. Took less than a minute each side. You can search YouTube to see it done.
I did that on my Jeep fenders and 3 months later I was tearing them off and installing new ones. Different plastic, I hope yours holds up.
