Hey y'all,

went off roading this weekend and let my buddy drive. I think he may have braked right before he hit a rock and the truck bumped it pretty bad. We werent going very fast but the part looks mushroomed and bent a little. I only have the OEM skid plat and it doesnt cover this part really well. I think its the engine mount?

How dangerous is it to keep hitting this? Does it look like the damage done is serious?

Anyone have this skid plate? I see it had a indent for this piece, is this enough protection?

Can’t tell 100% from the photo but it looks like you hit the bracket that keeps the front differential in place. I would check to see if it’s loose after the impact. You may have just bent the bottom of the bracket or there may be some hidden damage.

Definitely bracket that holds front differential. Part of the reason I upgraded to ARB skids. The ARB skids cover a lot more. I didn’t get mine repaired for a few months after the damage. Took it to body shop they still couldn’t get it 100% but much better. Not sure how much it actually moved when I hit the rocks? Or how it will affect the front diff/ CV axles ect. Long term. Mine is still holding up probably put 30-40k miles on truck after impact still no major issues with front differential knock on wood. There are a few scratches on bottom of my differential as well. I’m just lucky it didn’t crack housing front diff. I’d check for cracks or leaks around diff. Just to be safe.

I Definitely don’t baby my Ranger these truck are still built ford tough, I’m my opinion. The damage you are seeing was done when truck was bone stock no lift. Took her out for a true test and truck didn’t disappoint. Just took a beating.

Damn, I thought I abused my truck!
Thats pretty bad, to find someone that does Frame work is not gonna be cheap and even if bent back and re Welded it will probably have alignment issues from here on out :(
with busted welds and frame damage, an insurance company would total it

Dang so the whole bracket broke at the weld!?

I was looking at the ARB skid plates, but I don't want the whole set, just the front one.

Mine is still stock height. Need to lift it. I'll check this weekend to see how bad the damage is. So far I haven't noticed aby weird noise or driving issues.

They need to fire whoever welded those brackets.
That's some high school shop class quality welds.
Don’t get me started with the shop took 2 1/2 months to repair original damage. Couldn’t really complain about this they did it for free.

I checked it out today. Welds still look good and the bracket isnt too badly bent. Just scraped bad.

May have a friend reinforce the welds.
