I have had dents like that. I have been lucky that I found an excellent body shop. If you can find a good shop near you, they should help you make good decisions. A good shop will be able to match your paint. At least to the eye it will match. They will paint up to a change in body line. I.e. they will not feather paint in part of the hood. Your entire hood will get paint.

It does suck to have your new truck dented like that. I feel for you brother.
I’ll make sure to ask that they not feather, I’ve had a vehicle in the past with body work that looked perfect at first, then a few years later it was clear as day it didn’t match

Take it to your Ford dealer's body shop, they are your best bet to repair it. Do not go to any cut rate body shops.
Reality is that most dealers will job this out to places like Carsmetics!

That sucks man, sorry to hear. Did you go through insurance? If not they probably didn’t report it to car fax
Nope, I didn't bother. My deductible is $1000 (Michigan no-fault rates suck) and the shop quoted me $600 so I was pretty much SOL. But that's true, it's probably not on CarFax. Either way, I have pictures and invoices that prove that it was surface level. Good luck on your repairs man!

Just a reminder.. The hood is aluminum. The body shop needs to be trained in aluminum repair.
