My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told her an exhaust for the Ranger. She told me to order what I wanted and as she walked away she was muttering "car parts, more car parts". ?

Anyway I waited to see if MBRP was going to have a black Friday sale. They did and I ordered the pro series 3" cat back for 15% off. It arrived on Monday and I was hauling it into the house and the wife said no you don't, bring it to the garage. I was figuring I would have to wait until after Christmas to install it but at breakfast my wife said what are you waiting for? ?

Anyway, when we got home from breakfast I through the truck up on my lift and went at it. Pretty simple install, only difficulty was separating the mid pipe from the down pipe. The section of flex pipe wouldn't allow you to wiggle it loose, wound up using an air chisel to drive it off.

The exhaust is just what I hoped for, a little more sound at idle, quiet as stock cruising and a nice howl at WOT.

so...in my family, a gift bought before xmas, and given before xmas, is no longer an xmas gift.

she owes you something else to unwrap xmas day.
It is most certainly a Christmas present in my book. My wife and I have been married for 33 years and she learned a long time ago if I am asking for something that it's best to just let me order/buy it because I am very particular about what I want. She will get credit for buying me an exhaust system for Christmas anytime an exhaust discussion comes up with my car buddies.

There are plenty of things I need but will never buy for my self so those will be the surprises on Christmas morning. The dogs will also give gifts to to each of us and the dogs also have a stocking on the fireplace for their gifts.

It's harder for me, my wife never wants anything and seldom gives me any hints. I am left to figure it out for myself. Some years I hit a grand slam other years I strike out.

For her it is the stockings we fill for each other that is most important. It's just trinkets and gagets but it is super important to her.
