I'm kinda suprised that none of you looking at or comparing hybrids haven't looked at or considered a Subaru Forester. Very roomy, reliable and starts at under $35 grand.
May not be as high mpg as some others, but a lot more versability....
My wife, a 4 time Subi Outback owner, has actually been looking at trading her 2018 Outback Touring in on one while it's still worth some decent $$$$ as a trade.
It's the one hybrid I wouldn't be against buying for her.

We did last oil change on my wife's 2022 Forester touring. Wasn't worth it with about a 3 mpg gain over hers plus it had the big ugly screen and sat a little higher making it hard for her to get in. Plus so far hers has been totally trouble free and comfortable. The CVT makes me want a truck with one.

Problem with CVT is they are limited to the amount of torque and payload they can handle, Subaru has one of the better CVTs - wife has a 2025 Outback XT and it is quieter and performs better than I had expected. In reading about CVTs - when they fail it's often catastropic and don't get rebuilt.
And yes we considerd a Yota Crown Signia hybrid and I will usually check reviews on car and driver for their instrumented tests and quite often hybrids they test at 70 mph don't deliver the EPA estimates, some fall far short and the Crown Signia was one of those.

It was around 1987 or so, saw a Dodge Daytona with cheap lower door aftermarket stick-on badging that read DATONA. Ahh, we laughed so hard!

That's actually a really sharp looking car and I didn't even know that the Charger was an EV. But I don't want a Dodge and I'd get in way too much trouble with that. lol

Now you should buy it and start Season 3.....My wife threw me out of the house and now I'm living in my new EV.

That's probably for the fast charger. The regular charger is only $535.00 and can charge up to 44 miles in an hour at 11.5 kW / 48 amp output depending on vehicle. I'm sure there's more to it but I think you can home charge (slow) for a lot less than $5-10K.

My wife just traded in her Mercedes on a Lexus RZ 450. The RZ is a nice EV, but it is not as fast as the Tesla and has less range. Her car has @ 800 miles now on the odometer. Blasting the AC in the Phoenix summer noticeably reduces the range. Also, she does a lot of highway driving. Going down the highway at 75-80 mph reduces the range compared to city driving. She is getting a good 50 miles less than what Lexus advertised on the range.

Now on to the home charger. The location of my power box to where my wife wanted the charger, required around a 65' run on wire. LOL, I tried to get a quote from an electrician, but once he heard there was a long wire run, he ghosted me. Luckily, one of my friends is a licensed HVAC guy and hooked mine up after I ran the wire. Running the wire was not that bad since the majority of the run was in my attic over a 3-car garage. For my charger, it was around $1000-$1050 in parts. Actually, it was $80 less since I sold the leftover Romex on Facebook.

Conduit, 50a breaker, wire fish, parts etc $100-$150

With this setup, I'm running my home charger at 40 amps.

I'll bet an electrician would have done this job in 3 to maybe 4 hours. For what I paid for the parts, that would have been $4k in labor.
