So I finally got around to detailing my Ranger (after many delays due to "insert excuse here") and it came out great. Had some water spots on the roof and some light scratches/swirl marks on the hood. Used Adams Swirl and Scratch remover https://adamspolishes.com/products/adams-scratch-swirl-remover and it worked great. So I figured I'd give it a try on the door sill plates as they have some light scratches. Bad idea
. Whatever the coating/paint is, it started to come off and discolored the plate (only did drivers side). Kinda hard to capture it in pics being so reflective but here is what I could capture.
So if you have these sill covers, just use a mild cleaner lol.
I priced a new set from Levittown and they're already on their way. Not bad price wise, $75 for the set. both sides were scratched up so I don't mind replacing both. When I get them I'll snag some scrap PPF from work and apply that before installing the new ones on Squidward.
