I’m curious if anyone has side steps or bars installed & noticed if they protect your doors at all from door dings in parking lots?

From normal cars yes they do. For other trucks, not so much! I ended up getting paint matched door guard strips to catch those. ?I’m curious if anyone has side steps or bars installed & noticed if they protect your doors at all from door dings in parking lots?
These door edging protect the door edge of the Ranger but also the car or Truck next to the Ranger, like my Nautlius as seen through the windows of the Ranger....

When you can do it, parking "out in the back all alone" is definitely the best protection!I have the factory steps and I would think they help with regular cars next to you like Trig said. I never park close to anyone in parking lots because most just fling their doors open and could care less what's next to them. I'm the one you usually see out in the back all alone. Today we went to the home show at the stadium and my Ranger was all alone in the back corner.
Plus it's good exercise with the longer walk. Funny because the ones who really need it are parking as close to the door as possible. lolWhen you can do it, parking "out in the back all alone" is definitely the best protection!
For the last year I have been using the “park so far away that the walk was longer than the drive “ method. I’m a bit of a cheapskate, so I needed more than just aesthetics for the reason to purchase some. However If it prevents even a few dings that’s all the excuses I need! When you can do it, parking "out in the back all alone" is definitely the best protection!
How much did those cost , if you don’t mind me asking?I have the Go Rhino RB20s, and they definitely protect from door dings on most cars. I frequently wipe off paint chips from mine.
I have the RB10’s and find the same, which was one of the reasons for the install. That and to help stop rocks bouncing up and peppering the side of my truck... short wife is another reason. Otherwise I like things to look as clean and uncluttered as possible; that said, the Bugflector II, running boards, and Gatorbacks are purely functional.I have the Go Rhino RB20s, and they definitely protect from door dings on most cars.
