I have an XL so I didn’t have fog lights and wanted to add some lighting. I decided rather than a light bar in the open space in the bumper I was going to add 2 fog lights/pod lights and made some brackets to mount this. I wanted to share because it is simple and inexpensive solution as long as you have a way to cut some metal and drill some holes. I took a 2”x 36” x 1/8” piece of metal, cut two 6” pieces off, drilled two holes and painted spray painted it. It mounts onto the bumper bolts behind the lower bumper insert. If you are worried about air flow, have an XL or don’t want to relocate the ACC box this may work for you.

Hi Zach,

Nicely done! Looks like you thought this through and backed up with large fender washers. You will know next summer if there is an air flow problem, but what you did is easily removed if that becomes a concern.

Awesome job!! Mind showing where you mounted the switch and ran wire through firewall? And what fog lights are those!
Thank you

I am still working on figuring out the route for wiring but will update this when I’m done. I wanted to make sure I could fit the lights where I wanted first. Doesn’t seem like to many options for getting it into the cab. I’ve been searching on here for how others have done it so if anyone has recommendations please add to the thread.

These are the lights I used

Nirider LED Cube Lights Amber, 2PCS 50W CREE 3 Inch LED Fog Lights Yellow LED

You might try to poke around with a wiring diagram to see how much of the wiring for factory fogs is already there.

Or you can just pull out the upper plastic tabs in the grill opening and bolt light pods through them right to the bumper...

^^^

What I did for my rears. Discovered some trim scews that connect the top plastic step trim to the actual bumper. Popped those out and bolts for lights went in perfect.

I did the same for my rears as well but not in the same place...

Actually Im adding another set to those spots as well. Why? Cause why not. haha

Those Im going to put at an angle though to flood a bit of the rear outside perimeter.

My setup is similar to yours, I got an RCI 18" rack on the way with ARB awning/delux awning tent. Not doing a RTT going to add a large cargo rack that spans from the rear to over the roof a good bit.

BTW, source for your dark rear emblem? :)

I'm not sure if the Ranger is the same but on some Ford vehicles the wires are already there. You just have to add the lights, switch and enable them in Forscan. Link to Focus owners add OEM fogs

I wouldn't be surprised either way. It seems stupid for Ford to manufacture and track two different wiring harnesses that only differ by a couple of wires...but it seems like they did exactly that to certain base model rangers that lack at least some of the brake controller wires present in most rangers. So, who knows until someone goes digging.

Right. The TBC wires being missing is just completely bizarre.

The little round one next to the plate? That's Overland Bound member badge...
Or do you mean the Magnetic badge? A guy on Ebay sells custom painted badges...
