Howdy,

I recently installed some 6" LED bars in the small holes in the front bumper. I now have the off-road light bug and have set my sights on some ditch lights.

After researching for a bit, I found some brackets that appear to fit, but all the pictures in the description show a non N.A. Ranger.

Has anyone used these brackets before on a North American Ranger?

I appreciate any help!

These are what I used on my truck. I have smaller 3” lights though and they barely fit without hitting the windshield when I open the hood. 6” might be a little too big but you’d have to measure to be sure.

Yup! I use the Nilight passenger side one for a safety flag at parks. Id give you the driver side one to test if you were closer.

I've got the Nilight brackets on my truck. They're a decent value for the price and get the job done. Probably insufficient if you intend to run >6in pods or multiple lights on a single bracket.

The good:
- Hold my 5in pods tightly.
- Little to no additional wind noise from my pod and brackets.
- Very little wobble/wiggle/vibration (even at 80-85 MPH on windy interstates or bouncing around on rough mountain trails)
- I have no issue opening and closing my hood like normal.

The bad:
- The bolt hole/channels are way oversized (I threw washers on the backsides of mine for a better "bite").
- I had to spend 5-10 minutes bending one of the brackets clamped in a vise to get them "even" with each other.
- There is very little clearance at the back edge of the hood. If you aren't careful, I could see them vibrating here and rubbing paint away. (I threw a small patch of 3M vinyl on the bracket where it would contact the hood).

They're from Rough Country. You have to do some cutting to some plastic trim in the bumper, but other than that, it was a straightforward install.

They are quite bright too, 1400 lumens a piece I believe, but I'm very happy with them for only $95.

I appreciate the detailed response. I did notice that the bolt channels are a little wide for the 13mm nut, but I figured a washer would do the trick. My main concern was the clearance behind the hood as you mentioned, but being that those channels are a little wide, I figure sliding the bracket towards the rear of the truck some could help there.

Glad I have some spare clear vinyl around too.

They should arrive in the next couple days or so, can't wait to get them on!

Same brackets. They were fine for my Dual 4" Pod setup. But they're too flimsy for my beefier heavier 5" LEDs. They bounce too much at highway speeds. I bought the Diode Dynamics brackets. Much thicker material should eliminate the bounce. I hate their positioning so I'm gonna cut'm up & glue'm back together to get the mounting closer to the A-pillar.

I understand the light addiction. Good luck.

Washers should do the trick. I've had mine mounted that way for 4+ months and 4-5k miles now? No amount of >100'F days, high winds, wash-boarded and rocky trails, or interstate driving has managed to shake mine loose yet.

I will note - I have the brackets shoved as far back towards the windshield as the channels would allow. Without doing so, one side was touching the tail end of the hood., hopefully yours fit better from the factory than mine did.

Post some pictures when you get your new brackets and lights installed!
