"Check brake system" on 2 day old car

Hi all!

So I just got my hands on a T7 2.2 XL.

When I just turned the car off and restarted it to properly park. The car threw this message out. And its the second time it happened today.

Anyone know why this would happen?

Do you have access to an OBD scan tool or bluetooth OBD dongle? You should get the code easily. If not if could be anything from a failed or loose sensor to a major issue. How is the brake pedal feel? Soft and squishy? Normal? Extra firm?

Get that truck to the dealer right away Reuben - nothing quirky that I’ve heard of - not a known issue with a quick fix. It simply shouldn’t be happening.

Thanks for all the replies! So we found the issue. Its a known bug on the new rangers when you switch off the car in reverse and start it again.

Reverse into parking, turn the car off while in reverse gear. Take it to neutral(manual) and start. If I reverse and put the car in neutral before switching the car off it does not do it at all. And I found a bunch of people who could replicate it

Lots of us on here would gladly put up with that glitch to get a manual transmission behind our 2.3 EB
