I have the Gator SFX tri-fold. The cover itself is pretty nice (see link to thread below), and I'd venture to guess the American Tonneau is the same cover sold under a different brand name. That being said, I'm not sure how compatible it is with a bed rack. The cover rests on top of the bed rails, so you would need a rack or adapter that would sit flush between the bedrail and the cover and have enough clearance out the sides to accommodate the rack. There are a few vendors that make sure parts for the Tacoma, but I have no idea if anyone does for the Ranger yet.

KB Voodoo/Max Modular have universal racks that will work. However it should be said that you’ll have to trim the rails of the tonneau cover to make it work. This is the best thread I’ve found on the kind of cutting that has to be done. I’ll also say that your choice of a tri-fold is an odd one if you want a bed rack. I specifically went with a soft cover (Truxedo Pro x15) so that I can roll the cover open with the bed rack in place.

I'm looking for something similar to the OP, but specifically soft rolling like the truxedo. What kind of rack to you have and how is it mounted? We're any modifications required to allow you to be able to open/close with the rack on?

I am having the same issue. I am having a hard time wanting to bite the bullet on a topper shell and I want a secured place for my day to day use. I have been looking at Magnum Racks (Made in Maine :like: ) for a front and rear rack that would work with a between the rail tonneau cover (They have them for GMC, Chevy, Toyota and Nissan at the moment). I think I need to get in touch with them.
