I have only had my 2020 ranger for 2 oil changes. The first oil change (I did my self) was followed by having my house painted. So after the oil change it showed about 5000 miles till the next one. After a week of starting the ranger, driving it 2 houses away, parking, and when the painters left for the day driving it back 2 houses home the time till next only changes was just a few hundred miles till the next oil change. It took about 2 weeks of normal usage to get a semi realistic number again. It is like your oil change reset gives the truck a blank slate to base the next change on. So my truck thought it was going to spend its whole life driving 2 houses and sitting, instead of its previous 60k miles of actual driving.

Don't any of you note, on paper, when you do fluid changes, tire rotations, ect ???
Back of owners manual are plenty of blank pages to note date/mileage/what was done to keep a record.
Since day one any work goes down on paper. For Ranger, wife's Subi, lawn equipment.....
Even have a note board in garage reminding me of when next is due....
Set my spreadsheet up for the Ranger before I’d even taken delivery of the truck. Keep electronic copy in laptop, email a copy to myself (in case laptop crashes) and print a hard copy to go with owners manual after every spreadsheet maintenance task / update. :like:

Hey!!! Who you calling anal?!?!?

Ok fine. Maybe I’m just a bit anal.

You should use the Fuelly app. It records all your fill ups and calculates your average mpg for you. You can also upload all your receipts if needed.

Got to admit, I’ve become addicted to the Fuelly app.

It's the idling, trust me. I'm in New Brunswick Canada and for the last 2-3 weeks its been -30C/-22F day & night, I idle my truck A LOT and kicks the crap out of the oil. I still get almost a full winter with a good oil & filter, a subpar oil I would have had to do 2 or 3 changes since November. A good oil saves time, money and your engine/turbo.

Here I thought I was super OCD. lol

The only spreadsheet I keep is for household stuff. I like to keep track of the finances and see where the money is going. It comes in handy now since we've moved and I can see the difference in costs between my AZ house and the new one here. I already know it'll be more here (insurance, property taxes are higher here) but other things are lower so it'll be interesting to compare them next year.

The Fuelly app keeps everything I need for my truck. It's so simple and quick to input everything there's no need for me to have another spreadsheet. I don't really drive all that much now so it's like 1 fill up every 3-4 weeks and 1 oil change every 8-10 months.

Same here, I do out budget 6 months out with Google Sheets. The largest outgoing expense, over which I have absolutely no control, is the monthly 303 expenditure! =p

Even though I have a little notebook, I may succumb to all the bullying great advice here on the forum and do the same with a Google doc.

I guess I like the notebook because I can shove receipts in it ...

Full syn oils provide good lubrication for much longer than mineral oils. But their default claim of 7.5K-15K miles .....depending on usage is probably a stretch.
I've been 100% syn since the mid '90s. Between two vehicles we rarely drive over 6K miles/yr/vehicle. So before oil life monitors/alerts I simply changed both vehicles at the same time yearly.
Previous monitored cars alerted me around 7K miles. I reckon the odometer was the only input.
With mostly highway miles, the Ranger starts yapping at me around 5K miles. ...I wait it out for 6K.
The Ranger's calc's are likely more sophisticated, ...including the fact that Ford uses their semi syn blends. I go 6K with full syn with a clear conscience.
