Can't add user to Fordpass

Trying to add my wife to our 2022 Ranger XLT on Fordpass. Received the authorization notification in the app, but when I select "yes", I get a pop up saying my device security must be setup to proceed. When I select settings, it just takes me to my phone (Android) settings. Any ideas what I need to "setup"? Many thanks!

Looks like you need to enable a passcode to unlock the phone screen itself. Annoying but it's a common requirement. I recommend setting up fingerprint or facial recognition if the phone has either of those, makes it less annoying unlocking it.

Is the phone connected to the sync USB port of the truck and is the phone unlocked? If not it won’t handshake. I just changed phones and to sync the new one it had to be that way or it wouldn’t take. Pretty sure Bluetooth needed to be enabled too if I remember right

This is correct. It's saying that you need to have a lock on the device. I have several apps on my work phone that require it.
