Cabinet Gas Struts, anything weaker than 8.5lbs on the market?

I currently use two 8.5 lb struts on each of the my storage pods to keep them open. I have to use two or I get sag on one end. They work like a charm, but they are still putting some force when fully collapsed. I am thinking long term this may eventually deform the heavy duty poly plastic these are made of. May take two years, may take five, I dunno.

I am having trouble locating anything weaker than 8.5 lbs so I am not sure if they exist. Any cabinet guys know of anything?
