My car in high school (77-80) was this '72 Stang with a built 351C . I put a Mach1 hood on it and made my own functional RamAir . In this pic it had a taller air filter so it was more air induction but normally the air cleaner was sealed tight and friends thought it was a hoot to put their cigarette buts in front of the hood scoops since they would get sucked in when I revved the engine.

You can treat you Ranger better than that can’t you? ?
Haha, yes.
I can and I do. Forced Ram Air induction helps it breathe. ?
I keep coming up with new ways to spend money on it. I’ve got a cart full of stuff on Stage 3 and Amazon. I was looking at Velossa Tech and have to stop myself from spending money on more parts that I don’t need. So here it is.
I was at Home Depot for Gopher Traps and went down the downspout and gutter aisle and saw these elbows. They have the same shape as the Ram thingy.
So as a joke I thought I’d build on the idea. Now I’m out five bucks and two days of my life doing a deep dive into joke that took on a life of its own.
it’s been fun and entertaining and I support the aftermarket companies that offer serious products, I wouldn’t be caught dead with this thing under the hood.
But I am going to nail it to the wall of my garage. ?

You may need to cut out a chunk of the hood to make room for it. The duct tape already matches the paint!
I might have to rethink this.

If you want to build your own, here it is start to finish. Well almost, I still need to strap it in with plumbers tape. ???
I want to thank everyone who contributed to this little project with a lot of good ideas. ???

Same concept although it was for automotive use. I remember looking thru the aisles of the auto parts store and couldn't find anything so the guy let me look through his catalogs until I found something that would work. Oh the rough days before the internet ,lol.

Should this be in the redneck thread? ?
I mean I've used bean cans, beer cans, duct tape, coat hangers, flashing, water valves and all kinds of other redneck fixes on cars, but never gutter elbows.
Yet. ?
Yeah this is approaching the level of Mr. Turtle pool fender flares.
