Best mileage so far

The dash computer usually says 26-27mpg over the whole tank. Currently it's showing 28.8 with half a tank left... (Lots of highway running on vacation)

My last tank got me 453 miles. Fuel light was on, but the needle hadn't hit the red mark yet.

I never expected this good of mileage from a pickup, it almost get as good mileage as my car.

If you can maintain a a good highway speed say 65-70 and it's fairly flat without any steep inclines this truck gets great mileage. It's been said many times here it's either Eco (economy) or Boost (rocket status) you can't have both. ?

That's why I love 4 cylinder turbos... You can have your Eco or Boost whatever suits the mood

With 2.5" level and 265/70/17 Wildpeaks, the best I can get is 18. I run 91 octane and am driving about 90 percent highway. Typically drive around 80.

I'm getting ready install a 3" leveling kit next week and going with either 265s or 285s. Not sure which one though. I know I will take a hit on mileage. Oh well, that the price we pay when do upgrades.

I was contemplating both those sizes too. I ended up going with the 265/70/17 because it's my daily driver and didn't want to have much worse mileage or remover the crash bars with the larger ones. I have a 2.5" level and with the tires they're the perfect size and didn't take to much hit on mpg, maybe 1-2 mpg.

No spacers and haven't had any rubbing issues on or off road. IIRC with the 2.5" there's about 3/8" difference but to the eye it looks perfectly level. The only reason I didn't go with the 3" lift was there are times I have some heavy stuff in the bed and didn't want to be nose high. Just something to think about if you're ever going to tow or haul something heavy. You'll then have to add a 1" lift on the rear.

These are all pretty impressive mileages, even more so when I consider they are US MPG, Imperial MPG would be even better, probably similar to what I get out of my 3.2 diesel.

I wish they had made the Ecoboost engine an option here, but Australia is very much a diesel market for commercial vehicles, and diesel fuel is generally cheaper and much more available out of the cities.
Fortunately the Ford diesels even in Euro 5 form used here seem to be relatively reliable and trouble free.

Best ive gotten is 28.7 MPG. Nearly 500 miles on that tank. On average highway, I get about 26.

My best was a little over 28 at 220 miles going to Myrtle Beach from North Carolina. Mind you you basically going down hill all the way, because of the loss in elevation from my area of NC. Going back the same route in was a bit over 25. That little phenomenon happens no matter which of my vehicles I drive down there.

Had I not seen it myself, I would have a hard time believing it, but with the right trip, great mileage is possible:

That was taken right after a fill up - Fuelly actually computed the MPG to be 24.9. The difference for me was this was mostly either freeway miles or highway miles where I was going between 40-55 with very little stopping (Highway 101 in central Washington - it goes thru several small towns). The terrain was relatively flat as well.

On the trip home the MPG on the current tank is about 23 but that was mostly highway at about 75 MPH. Going faster than 65, hilly terrain and stop and go really brings the MPGs down in my experience.

As you can see by my Fuelly footer, my average is 20 MPG which is more typical for the driving I do most of the time.
