Truck has a sprayed in bed liner. I don't understand why the covers won't install with the variance in the bed width, but it won't. Does anyone have any idea why the bed is narrower at the front?
You’ll have to elaborate on why it “won’t install”. The tonneau rails just attach to the bed rails, so the width of the bed shouldn’t matter, unless you’re saying the rails are too narrow for the cover to attach to. On my Truxedo a mere 1/4”, which averages to 1/8” per side when centered, would not prevent the cover from attaching.

I have the bak revolver x4s and I had a problem where the rear bed was too wide and it was preventing the cover from staying latched. I realized that it was because I had one of those ratcheting cargo bars in the rear that was spreading the bed walls out. Got rid of the cargo bar and now I don't have any issues
