Anyone have experience with the ford bed extender? Is it worth it? Easy to take out if you have to?

Ive got the Amp Research Sport extender which I think is the same company that makes the ford version. Im very happy with it and its super easy to take out if needed (tilt to about 45 degrees and it slides out)

Honestly I find it gets more use as a grocery corral than a bed extender but thats fine. Definitely saves crap from rolling all over the bed

Well worth it and as Greg said above it's useful for many things. I've had mine since day one because I carry a 6' ladder for work and I usually just flip it back inside when done. It helps keep stuff from rolling all over the bed and takes no time to pull it out. The only issue is if you don't have a lot of room to store it they do take up some space but I just stick mine in the corner of the garage.

I've got the AMP Research bed extender, also, and like it a lot for the same reasons as GregP; does a good job of extending the bed when needed, and keeps the groceries and tools from sliding around when you don't need the full bed capacity. I added some black wire mesh to help it contain things. See attached pics. Like the look of it, too.

The mesh is actually Spectra armour gutter guard (black mesh style) which turns out to be the right width, and I then cut to length and secured to the extender with #10-3/4 self tapping screws (spray painted the heads black first to make them blend in).

I have the AMP Research and find it very useful. I got the Ford version as it was cheaper to me than the other places...benefit of being part of Ford???? Anyway, I liked the Ford Logo.

best,
Phil
