I have a dash cam (front+rear) but it does not record when the truck is off. I have footage of the cars behind me when I arrive at the parking lot but it was late and the license plates are hard to read with low light. I'm planning on upgrading the cameras or adding the small battery to keep the cams running.

Basically, I come back to my truck ~40 min later and that happened. The store have a few security cameras but I cannot see my truck because they only capture the first parking spots of each row near the entrance. It is minor damage in my opinion as I can use the truck. I have a hole in the tail light and a crack that goes all the way up. It is filled with water this week as it have been raining were I live, I'm not sure how long the blind spot sensor will survive under water. The side of the bumper was pushed against the bed as well. It look better after a pull.

The cheapest tail light I found on internet was $450 for a used unit, New can be found from $800 to $1200. I choosed to go to the insurance and pay the $500 deductible and let them fix all.

A few years ago I probably will not care about this but this is my first brand new vehicle and I want to keep it in good shape.
If you are definitely going to replace that light, I recommend drilling a hole in the bottom somewhere to drain the water.

I had a leaky tail light on a disposable car, that couldn't be fixed, and was not getting replaced. Couple small drill holes right through the bottom of the lens and water would flow through without blowing the bulbs every rain.

Try a Power Magic pro. It's so awesome! It keeps the dash cam powered up in parking mode. You set it to turn off by voltage or length of time. I just replaced my 5 year old Blackvue DR600 with a Blackvue DR740 2Ch LTE and it is awesome! It sends a notice if it records an event in parking mode. You can see live view or an event remotely. AT&T sent me a nano Sim card for free and added it to my Family share for an extra $7. We average 3 gigs a month of the 14 allowed and this shouldn't use more than 5 gigs max. Blackboxmycar has awesome videos on youtube and they are awesome to deal with. I bought through them on Amazon. Other sellers are NOT authorized Blackvue sellers. Id the price of $419 is a bit steep, I recommend the Viofo A129 Duo for $176. There are other options too.
