You've never seen Ms Messy eat. There's always a trail of crumbs throughout the kitchen which she swears isn't from her.

No way she's eating my truck. But I think I scared her because I told her the bugs will come and they attract scorpions. She's deathly afraid of scorpions.

Since we are older, kids are out and about, my truck stays pretty clean, except for dash dust. It is rare we have a DD coffee cup in the truck. When I stopped with those style cups, spills/stains/gunk stopped. I don't eat any fast food in truck, just snacks like apples, almonds etc. I'm old enough to deserve not to eat in the truck. Give me a table, or my tailgate.
Now when the kids were part of the equation, I'd clean my vehicle ASAP. My wife, before me, would let the food stay until it was too gross. I cleaned for her once, while we were dating, OMG, how could anyone live that way???

Pressure washer takes care of the road dust, crusty salt, mud etc.

I don't eat in the truck anymore either. I mostly just do a grab and go and take my takeout home and eat at the house.
