Availability of Ranger

Does anyone know why the Ranger factory is not cranking out the trucks. In the metro Detroit area dealers have not gotten any Rangers in couple months. My dealer says there are 10 XLT Rangers with 302 package in Michigan. They are all at the factory. No timeline as to when they will be released.

They are producing, but at a slower rate due to all the COVID precautions. The plant was shut down for almost 3 months I believe which caused a shortage of Rangers.

It could be there are shipping issues as well due to COVID. I know most dealers around me have less than half the number of Rangers they used to have earlier in the year.

My local dealer told me that they are not receiving any new car or truck shipments. They are low on all vehicles due to plant shut downs.

Yup. Dealership where I adopted Lone had 0 on the lot Sunday. Great line up of F150s, however.

And a lot of the new truck stock went south to states that remained open in March and April, further depleting stock. (plus the Jan-Feb UAW strikes; seems a lifetime ago)

The prices seem to reflect this shortage. I'd like to order a 2020 before they begin producing the 21s, but Ford is only offering $1000 rebate right now. Hopefully they will add a bit more of a year end rebate in Aug-Sep.

Model year end for 2020 will be very late, even later than 2019 - see this post:

So end of year will be the end of November or beginning of December this year. 2019 end of the model year was in November if I recall correctly.
