I have a 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat. I recently had a 2023 F150 leaser from the dealership and I noted that I could unlock the passenger door by tapping the driver door handle two times. I’ve noted in my own Ranger now after the fact that one tap only opens up the driver door and two taps has no effect. Is there a setting that I can change on my 2019 Ranger or is that a new feature for newer models? My wife thanks you in advance.

In reading the 2019 Owner's Manual Tony, way I understand the door unlocks, taping the driver door handle two times does not open the other doors. You can unlock all the doors by pressing the unlock tab twice on your fob. The 2023 F150 function must be a newer method.

I fixed mine in the dash settings on the right side of the dash, although mine is a Lariat so that may change with other models.

This is the 2-Stage unlocking system - Disaabled allows for one action to unlock ALL doors, vs two actions. Enabled

If the dash settings - Locks, does not do it try this:

Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote control for four seconds to disable or enable two-stage unlocking. Disabling two-stage unlocking allows all vehicle doors to unlock with one press of the button. The turn signals will flash twice to indicate a change to the unlocking mode. The unlocking mode applies to the remote control and intelligent access.
Intelligent access at the driver door will unlock all doors when you disable two-stage unlocking.

I have a 21 Lariat. I touch inside the door handle to unlock. Unlocks all the doors. Can be done from passenger side also.

I have a 21 Lariat. I touch inside the door handle to unlock. Unlocks all the doors. Can be done on the passenger side also. Touch the outside to lock. Hope this helps.

My '19 Lariat unlocks all the doors and tailgate if you grab the handle of ANY of the doors.
Obviously this only works if you have the key-fob in close proximity, like in your pocket or in a bag or something.
Also locks or unlocks all the doors and tailgate if you touch the indentation on any door handle.
(Touching the tailgate handle does nothing.)
This all most likely because I enabled the option in the settings menu.

My Lariat unlocks all doors by the settings on the driver info screen.

XLT here, I enabled the setting in the dash that allows for one click of the FOB to unlock all the doors. I've gotten so used to it I forget to double click the unlock button for passengers when driving other cars.
