In 2019 the average income for an individual was $31k. An individual making $125k/year is in the 90th percentile of American wage earners.
The limit for married folks filing jointly is $250k per year. That's over 2.5 times my family's yearly income, and while not rich, we're not certainly not poor.
I'd say that if you don't think $125k/year is rich, you're probably a little out of touch with most of the US.
Or gotten a job besides underwater basket weaving.... Gonna start calling you "a poor"
