Anyone had their transmission simply not respond, when flooring it?

I've had the same thing happen a few times when doing a U turn on a hill. I park there regularly so I've had a chance to try different things. I stomp it after turning and there is no response - no revving, no clunking, just total silence. Eventually it starts to spool up and go but there is a scary delay before that happens and when it does take off it is much slower acceleration than normal. At first I thought it was the traction control, since something similar used to happen in my old car if it sensed tire slip, but I've tried turning that off and it makes no difference. It also continued to happen after I installed a livernois tune. It only happens in very specific situations, usually from a low speed roll with light pedal pressure. 99.9% of the time the truck takes off like a rocket which makes it even worse since I've come to expect being able to hit a gap in traffic on the fly.

My theory is it's something in the ECU getting confused by the sudden shift in pedal input at low speeds. It doesn't like to drop into first unless it is at a stop, but to get power if its rolling in low RPM third or fourth it has to drop down. Something about that freezes up the shift pattern. The shifting is otherwise flawless so I don't think it is a transmission issue.

Anyone had their transmission simply not respond for a longtime, when flooring it?
I was on the highway recently, and was merging into traffic from a near-standstill (as is normal).
I was half out of my lane, with high-speed traffic in the lane I was merging into, and floored it while in D mode to merge into the lane.
Simply nothing happened for SEVERAL SECONDS(like 3 seconds). It seems like I lost all wheel power. Not even slow movement while turbo spun up -- simply 0 power.

After those few seconds, the vehicle finally started accelerating. I didn't move my foot so no, I hadn't been accidentally pressing the brake :p

Anyone had this before?
Is this a transmission issue? Engine issue? Either way it was extremely unsafe.
Yes. It always happens. Seems the brain has to relay the message, but always slowly. Maybe 3 seconds or so?
i try to remember the delay when merging.
good luck!

It's odd because it has never been that slow for me, except that one time.
