Mine is a Lariat and I tapped into the yellow/green wire between the driver side headlight and the battery .

Did the light kit come with the tap?

I am thinking of this or the new Ford Performance grill, but wonder how the matte finish would look with my black package. I could always paint the surround but would worry about it holding up over time compared to the stock gloss black surround.

The only thing that is holding be back on this grill is that the surround is black and not the magnetic color with my OEM tremor.

This with no red ends and no lights is the first grill I have seen that even made think about changing mine. Simple and clean, it would look great on a black truck.

I like the AFN without the lights. Paint that surround magnetic and I'd be all over it.

The OP shows the amazon one without red ends installed too, 3rd photo in OP. It Looks to be the same unit, but 3MS does off it with white LED or yellow. 3MS has it in stock too, which is a big plus.

The grill separates from the surround, it will be very easy to paint, I think you should do it

Would like to, along with RTR side vents painted Magnetic as well. Doing that would leave only one "Ford" and one "Ranger" on the tailgate.

Alas, cosmetic additions/modifications are last on my list. Those 2 parts painted would be too close to cost of a tune for me. Maybe later in '22 I'll get to it.

I think FORD is on the center caps of all factory wheels (I remeber your own 255/80-17, but can't recall if you have factory rims).

The windshield I didn't count as it's virtually invisible.

I forgot about the centercaps, but that can be replaced with whatever I want.

But the damn tailights, don't know how I missed that one.

I've tried a few vinyl overlays on the tail light, but haven;t been happy with it yet. I think by summer, most of the red that's not light will be covered with black.

Plastidip is another option to black it all out.

Just posted those as an extreme example to show that you can get centercaps with literally anything on them.

If I ever tarted up my truck like that I'd go plain black and have 'em painted magnetic w/ the other bits.

I just installed my Amazon grill. Had the surround painted velocity blue and insert magnetic.

If you don't mind me asking how much were you charged for paint work? Did they break it down between insert and shell? Just curious how much it might be for just the surround.

My summer rims have 93.1 bore and a plain black center caps that fit and matches the Ford black pack rims that came on my truck

I think it was like $208 or something like that for both the blue and gray. They gave me a military discount, think couple bucks off the hourly rate. Really great deal and did really nice work.
