For issues with the Airbag Light - If you are not getting any codes to pinpoint down the issue then it will need a live data PID view to see a resistance value that may be slightly out of spec. (Look for anything that does not closely match the values provided.
I decided to provide a reference of normal readings you should see.
Rather Than Post 17 Pages of data, I created a Excell Spreadsheet, you will most likely need a High-End Scan tool to view the PIDS

Hope This Helps for T-Shooting the Airbag & Seatbelt System

Test Note: Resistance Values may vary slightly depending on temperature:
Test Temperature Ref: 60 Deg F.
So, to pinpoint compare - Driver & Passenger & Second Row PID Readings to see if any reading is not closely matching each other.

Note: First Row & 3rd Row (Middle) Seatbelts are Programmed (Buckled) since they are not on the Ranger.

I just thought of something.. I had a mouse issue a few months ago. I found 2 wires chewed in the DS rear door sill plastic cover. I repaired them. Also checked that out when I notice the air bag warning light last week. My repair is good. Now I'm wondering if another wire may have been mouse attacked and I haven't found it. I have looked everywhere I can get to. Without totally dismantling the entire truck.
The only thing I found affected by that chewed wire was the running board lights I put on when I bought it. They are tapped into interior light wire, so they come on when door is opened. ( Done per instructions from light mfgr).

Ok, then if you can - With the Airbag Light - (On) check for codes to see if anything registers, as it is possible if light (off) it may not show a code.
The easiest way to find it - Is Live Data and check & compare the resistance values (you will be looking for anything that stands out) notably different that is just teetering on max range (specs) to trigger the light - hence the intermittent issue.
