Gee on mine the 2"by2" piece of foam that was provided with my Gator SFX sealed up the front just fine. The seal on the frame contacts the provided foam with about a 3/8 to 1/2" over lap.
Same.

Gator SRX Roll-Up.

Has held up fine this last year of ownership. Driving through dusty Ocala NF I do tend to find my bed with a bit of sand inside, but overall it keeps a good bit of the water out.

My soft tri fold (like many of the here) only opens when the tailgate is down. you have to open the tailgate and reach under to release the rear hold down clips.

so it is always "locked"

then again it is a soft trifold and a cheap knife will cut through it in seconds. however you have to know something is worth stealing there.

Like most things you have to assess what your needs are and what your budget can stand and choose accordingly.

The Ranger is the first truck that I have had that had a locking tailgate. Also, all my previous trucks had rollup tonneau covers so a locking tailgate would not prevent anyone from getting into the bed.

That being said I have never had an issue with anyone messing with any of my trucks either.

I don't think I would be at risk of theft. The only time would be parked overnight in a hotel parking lot, so depending on the hotel and security cameras I would think I'd be fine.

I don't want to spend much because it will sit in the garage 90% of the time when I am not road tripping. I need the bed open for truck stuff.

We're going on a road trip in June and will have a lot of stuff in the bed while parked at many different hotels. I do have a front and rear dash camera so I'll leave that on as it goes into parking mode and won't drain the battery but will still capture anyone trying to break in. On our longer stays I'll bring most stuff inside with us but the overnight ones are the nights I'm worried about. They're all in good areas but today, you just never know.

That's your problem, you stay in the good areas. Stay in some dive in the bad part of town they won't think you have anything worth taking.

? You just might be on to something there Larry. lol Except they'll see my Ranger and know there's probably something nice in there. Unless I rent a Tacoma, then for sure they'll leave it alone.?
