Not much talk about exhaust ahead of the rear wheels. My 1997 F150 came with the exhaust ahead of the right rear wheel. The 97 and 98 models did this. It was changed for the 99 year due to, "I heard", the exhaust discoloring the rear wheel plastic chrome center cap. Never and issue for me on the tires or wheels but center cap could discolor. Could polish or replace. Low cost. The Lightning also exited ahead of the rear wheel. I like the look and that there are options.
