So this is the first time I have heard of them and I decided to go ahead and look them up. There isn't a whole lot of information on the site that I can tell but it is possible it can be a good quality product. Reason I say this isn't seems like it's more of a local type company that focuses on quality over quantity. Yes that does mean a higher cost in general but at the same time if you're getting a good quality product you have less chance of failure. How is it compared to the rest of the market? I honestly have no idea because again this is the first time I have heard of them.

Thank for taking the time to look it up and chime in. Yes, they are fairly new to the national and international market, how ever I agree with you, so far lots of great reviews and I’m in Canada, they are being put on Tacoma’s and rangers, my local off roading shop recommends them highly and even over the major brands. So I’m excited :)

some people say not to lift the truck up more then 2.7 inches so these are 2.5-3 inches adjustable with rezzies. Apparently they also invest more into rustproofing the shocks so they Last longer then competition.

Like Frenchy I had never heard of them. So I did some quick research.

Seems they're a more budget friendly option than some of their competitors and were once sold under the name "Ballistic."

I don't trust companies that claim to offer the same thing at a drastically reduced price. I also don't trust companies that have had to change their name.

Most shops simply recommend the product that gives them the opportunity to mark it up more. I'm sure their recommendation stems from profit, not your well being.

With options from Eibach, Bilstein, King, Fox, OME, Icon, and yes even Rough Country, all major players in suspension components, it makes no sense to me to give these much consideration.

If anything I am curious as to what kind of OffRoading you plan to do?

Are you planning to hit the regular trails that may or may not get a but hecktic? Are you only going for looks? What are you trying to do? I ask because you are still going to spend quite a bit and I belive you should make sure you are getting the right product for what you are paying for.

Thank you, I value your feedback, great points you brought up!!! and gives me something useful to think about. I Plan to look into it more and be more educated. I emailed both the shop and ADS so I’ll see what they say first.

Hey Frenchy,
I’m grateful for the question, thanks for the care.
Yes I hit a lot of trails and sometimes quit hectic, I basically try to go anywhere the truck can go with out destroying it so the more capable I can make it the better. I’m trying to turn it into a very capable truck, I can’t go over 3 inch lift tho due to clearance for parking.

I understand the not exceeding a certain amount of lift(from the suspension at least). As for making it capable I would definitely look for a lift kit over a leveling kit.

If you are willing to spend the money on a remote Resivoir type shock you may be inclined to conside the Old Man EMU BP-51 kit. I myself have the nitrocharger kit and eventually will upgrade to the BP-51's.

Total lift from the suspension is 2.4 front and 1.6 rear. The kit gives you all shocks and needed springs both front and rear(BP-51's are nice coilovers up front with no disassembly or assembly required) for the leafs there are 3 different ones to chose from. The standard(780 lbs of weight bring it down to level), medium load(designed to carry a constant load of 660lbs at lift height) and heavy load(will carry 1320 lbs at lift height). The BP-51 coilovers have a simple adjustment for no extras up front up to bumper and winch(adjustment needed off the truck).

Now I have not run the BP-51's myself but I have heard great things. Also Old Man EMU(suspension division of ARB) has been making suspension kits designed for hitting the trail(primarily the Outback) since 1970 so they have some experience to say the least.

For tires you can fit 285/70-17 Firestone Destination XT's and possibly other tires on the factory wheels with no spacers too!! With that combination it gives roughly 4 inches feont and 3 inches rear of lift and I feel the Ranger is just about right with that setup. I have taken my truck on some fair trails here in Colorado and lets just say those who only did a leveling kit would most likely damage stuff or just turned around with what I went through.

Frenchy,

thank you for the detailed reply, my second choice is kings, depending on how ADS and the shop near me replies.

I have the nitro charged OME lift with the light duty leafs currently, I think the exact package you have. I’m finding it’s quite a rough ride though when prolonged riding on the logging roads, my tire size is 275/70 I had to cut as well to fit them on. The OME nitro charged is nice so far but I find it’s very limited.
That’s a beauty looking truck you got there.

I’ve looked into the BP-51 and it’s quite a mixed bag of results compared to Kings and I’m not sure why I would choose BP-51 over kings at this point but I do like the OME brand.
I’ll reply more soon.

There is a good possibility you have the same kit as me. As for the BP-51's they would be a much more comfortable ride compared to the nitrochargers(part of why I want to change). It is still a little new but the bypass technology used does make it quite nice.

Here is a video from an OffRoader I watch and get a fair bit of information from. It may be helpful for you.

ADS shocks are great, expensive but great. Everything is built / machined in house in Tucson Az. I know this because there was a time I use to race for them in the Ultra 4 series (stock class). After I stopped racing I ran the same shocks on my Jeep JKU paired with some bumps and it moved for a solid axle car. I currently have the fox shock package on my tremor and will keep them until they are shot. When the time comes ill be doing the ADS shock package with the clickers, that is a huge perk in fine tuning. I have seen the shocks on another ranger with tubular upper arms and it just flat works. But they are expensive so its a tough expense for many unless you want to go fast across the desert.
